Who is this Lady?

I don't know who she is, but this lovely lady marks the southern tip of Mill Village. It is not apparent from this photo that she is standing in the middle of fountain. I have never seen any water in the fountain. If it ever starts flowing again, I promise you another picture.

There are not many statues on public display in Pell City, so this must suggest that the mill was at one time very important to the people here.

i bet your local historian would know. and if you don't have one, the local librarian can help. what makes these photoaday blogs intersting is the facts and history one gains.
You're right. My excuse is that I have not lived here long enough to learn the local history and I have not found a local historian yet. On top of that, the library closes about the same time I get off work. Still, I am curious too and will try to do better about getting the information. Thanks for your interest.
