N33° 35.174', W86° 17.164'

Today's picture (over there on the left) is quite an ugly map of Alabama showing the location of Pell City relative to the Interstate Highway System in the state. That's I-65 running North through the middle. Pell City is on I-20. I-20 and I-59 both cross I-65 in Birmingham, just West of Pell City, then I-20 and I-59 are combined West of Birmingham until they separate again in Meridian, Mississippi. I-85 starts at I-65 in Montgomery and goes East to Georgia. Last, but not least, there is a little bit of I-10 running along the Gulf Coast and through Mobile.

Ok, so those are lousy directions. If you want to drop a bowl of petunias or a very surprised looking sperm whale on us, just use the coordinates shown in the title above.

Christmas Miracle

I love looking at the Christmas lights each year. Here is a nice display at one home in downtown Pell City. I planned to show this in black and white, but my camera seems to be taking color pictures again. c'est la vie

What's up dock?

Since my last post, we bought a new house, well, new to us, and started moving. That, and the fact that my camera broke, has contributed to my lack of photoblog activity. First about the house: We have moved out of Pell City, but we are still in the metropolitan area, (that's supposed to be funny) and I still work in town. Second, the camera, it's an HP945 digital and it has decided to quit taking full color photos. There is a black and white mode that still works as you can see in the picture above. I like black and white, but as an amateur photographer I need all the help I can get. And now, in the advent of Christmas, there are colorful lights up that I would like to display.

Enough about me, I hope your Thanksgiving was pleasant. If Thanksgiving is not celebrated as a holiday where you live, you can be thankful anyway. In the spirit of international friendship, one year we can trade. How about one Thanksgiving for one Oktoberfest?
